Tabletops For Education

August 2008 - Sears Trostel donated material and labor to create new classroom table and desktops for "Education For Life" in Fort Collins. "Education For Life" trains or retrains approximately 450 people per year with valuable skills so that they may enter the work force and make better lives for themselves.

Bread N' Boards Fundraiser

For almost four years now, Sears Trostel and Great Harvest Bread Co. have hosted this much anticipated fundraiser. It started out small and we never expected the public to react to it as much as they did. The first year, we sold out of breadboards in less than two hours and people were clamoring for more. Each year, we've made more and more boards but we still manage to sell out early. The general public loves the idea and love the fact that all the proceeds are donated to the Food Bank For Larimer County. This has become an annual event. Check out the events page for dates!

Windmill Child Enrichment Center Article

From the Fort Collins Coloradoan, October 2008

"Thumbs up to three local businesses that helped Windmill Child Enrichment Center in Windsor last summer after the tornado displaced them. The returning kids had very little to play with after the tornado, and they were temporarily located at a local elementary school. Thank you to Learning Express for its generous donation of quality wooden and educational toys; to Sears Trostel Lumber for its generous donation of wooden preschool blocks that were made in their shop; and to the employees of Walgreens in Windsor for their employee-funded donation of outdoor toys and treats. There were many other companies that helped the kids at this center; I happen to know firsthand of these three. Their generosity made a lot of traumatized kids feel much better about returning to day care!"
